It may come to no surprise that I've had a goal to become an Ironman like my dad since I was 8 years old! After years of multiple joint surgeries and chronic back pain, I finally got back to being able to run again. As it turns out, this was also the same time that my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Knowing my dad only had about 1-2 years to live, I trained like never before and was able to compete in my 1st 1/2 marathon, full marathon and 70.3 Ironman with my dad there to watch me finish! I soaked up as much knowledge and wisdom from my dad as I possibly could!
I've now come to the point in my life where I'm ready to take on my 1st Ironman in Louisville on October 9th, 2016!
I'm competing not only in honor of my dad, but for Michiana challenged athletes! Please take a moment to make a contribution towards the mission my dad and I have helped create. Thank you!
